UNIONIZATION TOWN HALLStipends and benefits, the upcoming union representation election, voting and research were among the topics covered during a Town Hall with Penn State leaders on March 13 that focused on graduate student unionization. 

BINGE-WATCHING: Recent doctoral graduate Arienne Ferchaud got an idea for her dissertation after binge-watching the TV show "The Walking Dead." Do people who binge-watch a program enjoy it differently than those who watch it week to week? What are the differences and how will show creators respond?

CAPITAL DAY: Penn Staters descended on Harrisburg for Penn State Capital Day 2018 on March 13, an event designed to bring together the University community and Pennsylvania elected officials.

DALAI LAMA: Robert Roeser, Bennett Pierce Professor of Caring and Compassion and professor of human development and family studies, will take part in a panel discussion with the Dalai Lama on March 15 at the Main Tibetan Temple in Dharamsala, India.

ZOMBIE ANTS: Carpenter ants infected with a specialized parasitic fungus are not subjected to aggression or isolation from their nest mates, and they continue to share in the colony's food resources until they leave the nest for the last time to die, according to a study led by Penn State researchers.

SBDC ANNIVERSARY: The Penn State Small Business Development Center, which turns 20 this year, is responsible for securing more than 2,000 jobs, 500 business openings and stimulating millions of dollars in economic growth in central Pennsylvania.
