      A  look at this week's top stories from across Penn State:

      MLK: A capacity crowd gathered at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel on Jan. 15 to celebrate the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.

      ROBESON CENTER: The Paul Robeson Cultural Center sponsors many high-profile programs and speakers throughout the year, but the center also supports a strong community ready to listen and discuss issues of diversity, race, identity, religion, politics and more. 

      FUNDING RANKING: The Consortium of Social Science Associations recently ranked Penn State third in total federal research dollars in the social and behavioral sciences award to U.S. institutions.

      MIND AND BODY: A new research study being conducted by a faculty member in the College of Information Sciences and Technology asserts that without a physiological complement, "[A computer program modeling the mind] would just be a brain in a vat."

      TRIPLETT HALL OF FAME: Penn State football letterman Wally Triplett, who is synonymous with the creation of the "We Are...Penn State" mantra, was among the six honorees elected to the Cotton Bowl Hall of Fame Class of 2018.

      LEARFIELD CUP: The Nittany Lions are No. 2 in the final fall 2017 standings of the Clearfield Directors' Cup based on the strength of five teams qualifying for their respective NCAA championships and the football team winning the Fiesta Bowl.

      NEW RIDE: Penn State Health Life Lion Critical Care Transport welcomed a new helicopter to its life-saving fleet. The newest aircraft is the largest aeromedical helicopter in Pennsylvania.
