A look back at the week's top stories from across Penn State:

PITT-PENN STATE BENEFITS: Although Pitt and Penn State will clash on the football field on Saturday, off the field, the two institutions play on the same team: working to advance like-minded missions.

DACA: Penn State President Eric Barron shared a message with the University community in light of a memorandum issued by the Department of Homeland Security that the federal Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program will be ending.

TOWN HALL: The next University Faculty/Staff Town Hall is scheduled for 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sept. 27 in Freeman Auditorium of the HUB-Robeson Center on the University Park campus. The Town Hall will be livestreamed to campuses across the Commonwealth for their participation at LiveEvents.PSU.edu.

NASA CHALLENGE: An interdisciplinary Penn State team led by Stuckeman School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture faculty members Shadi Nazarian and José Duarte earned second place and a $150,000 prize in NASA’s 3D-Printed Habitat Challenge, a Centennial Challenge competition established to develop the technology necessary to create shelters to support the human exploration of Mars.

ALUMNI FELLOWS: The Penn State Alumni Association will recognize 14 graduates on Oct. 4 with the lifelong title of Alumni Fellow, the highest award given by the Alumni Association.

CUSTOM SHOES: Using state-of-the-art technology, former Penn State Altoona student Nick Unis is turning his dream of creating and selling custom-made footwear into a reality.
