UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Campus Recreation will offer a free two-week membership trial to University Park faculty and staff starting in January.
Associate Director Heather Foster said the goal of the membership trial is to encourage and support faculty and staff in their fitness and well-being journeys.
“As we’ve come back out of COVID and things have started to return to normal, we are trying to promote faculty and staff memberships,” Foster said. “[We encourage] faculty and staff to focus on their own wellness. Exercise and focusing on your health and well-being are important to your mental health and happiness at home and work.”
Faculty and staff can start their trial any time after Jan. 3 — Campus Recreation’s reopening date for the spring semester. To start the trial, visit the Campus Recreation website, login using your Penn State credentials, click on the “Memberships” icon, select “Faculty/Staff Free Trial Membership” and enter the code “TryBeforeYouBuy” during checkout. Faculty and staff can also start their trial by visiting the Intramural Building Sales Window.
The trial allows access to the following Campus Recreation facilities and amenities:
- Intramural Building
- White Building
- Hepper Fitness Center
- McCoy Natatorium
- weight rooms
- indoor track
- climbing walls
- pools
- informal recreation, such as basketball, volleyball, indoor soccer, badminton and racquetball
- group exercise classes
Amenities that require an additional fee, such as access to a personal trainer or the Tennis Center, are not part of the trial.
Campus Recreation memberships can be purchased for $50 a month, $95 a semester or $230 a year. Overnight lockers are also available for $50 a semester or $150 a year. Faculty and staff who purchase a membership can choose to enroll in a monthly payroll deduction by visiting the Intramural Building Sales Window.
