UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — From Nov. 4 through 11, Penn State Student Affairs will be hosting "Love Your Body Week" on the University Park campus, featuring events dedicated to promoting body-positivity, self-compassion and overall well-being. All students are welcome to attend. Most events are drop-in, while some programs require advanced registration, which are indicated with a link.
About "Love Your Body Week"
The first week of November will feature a range of opportunities for students to engage with staff and peer educators to learn strategies to practice gratitude and compassion toward their bodies. The events held throughout the week aim to promote positivity and healthy habits. Students are encouraged to participate in as many activities as they’d like during the week.
"Love Your Body Week" is a collaborative initiative hosted by Campus Recreation, the Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity, Counseling and Psychological Services, Health Promotion and Wellness, R-VOICE, and University Health Services, all units in the division of Penn State Student Affairs.
Programming for “Love Your Body Week” is funded in part by the Laura R. Whitaker Fund. The fund was established to remember Whitaker, a former Penn State student, who suffered from an eating disorder. The fund supports awareness related to eating disorders and body image issues.
