Center for Arts and Crafts opens registration for art classes, workshops

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Center for Arts and Crafts is accepting registrations for spring 2023 art classes and workshops. The first session of classes will begin Jan. 23 and the second session will start on March 13.

Art classes for the spring 2023 semester include wheel thrown pottery, acrylic painting, embroidery, watercolor, drawing, stained glass, colored pencils, oil painting, macrame, jazz and lyrical dancing. All classes are taught by Penn State students majoring in art or art education, graduate students and professional artists.

For those who are unable to commit to a class, Penn State students, faculty and staff can choose from a variety of workshops. These include crochet, handbuilt ceramic fairy gardens, paint your own pottery, wine glass painting and polymer clay jewelry. A complete schedule of classes and workshops can be found here.

Students, faculty and staff can register for classes and workshops at the Center, located in 3 Ritenour Building, with a valid Penn State ID.

The Center for Arts and Crafts is part of the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, a unit of Student Affairs. Hours for the center are Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
