Discussions on reproductive justice, abortion bans to be held Sept. 12

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Gender Equity Center and the Center for Spiritual and Ethical Development at Penn State will hold a discussion titled “Reproductive Justice, Religious Freedom, and Abortion Bans: What Does it Mean?” from 1-2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 12, in Memorial Lounge in 107 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center at University Park. Those unable to attend in person also can join via Zoom.

The session will discuss and define reproductive justice, as well as examine the rights, outcomes and issues surrounding abortion and body autonomy following the U.S. Supreme Court’s June 24 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. Session organizers also will answer questions about the abortion access debate and bans, as well as discuss tangible actions for advocacy and support.
