Health Promotion and Wellness offers activities to improve students' well-being

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- As the fall semester begins, Health Promotion and Wellness (HPW) encourages students to participate in activities supporting health and well-being. The activities help students reduce stress, meet others, and develop a sense of belonging at Penn State.  

“We know wellness looks different for every student, and our goal is to have an array of offerings and inclusive spaces to ensure everyone feels welcome,” said Erin Raupers, assistant director of Health Promotion and Wellness.  

Weekly activities are free for all to attend and include the following: 

Yoga and Meditation 

  • 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Mondays in 232 HUB-Robeson Center

  • 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. Wednesdays in 122 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center

  • 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. Thursdays in 122 Pasquerilla Spiritual Center

Family and Friends Peer-Support Group 

  • 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. Tuesdays in 105 Pasquerilla (or on Zoom

Well-being Wednesday 

  • 3:30 –5:30 p.m. Wednesdays in the Intramural Building. Look for the information table in the lobby of the building.   

Vibe Out 

  • A musical Wellness Series co-sponsored by the Center for Performing Arts, Student Engagement Programs, Campus Recreation, and Health Promotion and Wellness. Dates vary – check the HPW website for details.  

Shinrin-yoku, Forest Bathing  

  • 4:00 – 5:15 p.m. and 5:30 – 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays at the HUB-Robeson Center through October 28. Sessions are limited to 15 participants, and registration is required. 

All activities, except Shinrin-Yoku, are drop-in, and no registration is required. More information can be found on the HPW events and programs website.
