UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Lion’s Pantry, the student food pantry at Penn State's University Park campus, announced adjusted summer hours and location beginning May 16. The Lion’s Pantry provides free food and household items to any Penn State student with a valid Penn State ID.

Summer hours will be 11 a.m.–1 p.m. on Mondays and 5 p.m.–7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from May 17 through Aug. 18.

Due to renovations, the Lion’s Pantry open hours will be located in the nearby Chem Storage building on Big Hollow Rd in storage unit #003 through the summer. The Pantry’s location is the third garage door, in the first Chem Storage building on the left (next to the High-Pressure Combustion Lab on Google Maps).

The campus shuttle runs weekdays until 6 p.m. and drops students off on Big Hollow Rd.

The option to request a pre-packed grocery bag pickup will be available throughout the summer and those can be picked up in the Chem Storage building location as well.

Summer may change based on campus closures or other extenuating circumstances; follow The Lion’s Pantry on social media for updates or email thelionspantry@psu.edu with questions.

The Lion’s Pantry is undergoing significant renovations this summer to expand its offerings. The renovations include the addition of refrigeration and freezer units so the pantry can offer perishable foods, including produce. Some perishable foods will be available when the pantry reopens in the fall, but additional items will continue to be phased in through fall and spring semesters.

  • Student Disability Resources, 102 Boucke Building
  • Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity, Lower Level, 0011 HUB-Robeson Center
