UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Approximately 680 Penn State students live in areas recently impacted by hurricanes Fiona and Ian, including World Campus students who are attending the University from their places of residence. Penn State would like to remind these students, as well as any student impacted by a natural disaster, that support resources are available.
Penn State Student Affairs and World Campus provided direct email outreach to students from areas impacted by the hurricanes, offering to connect them to the University’s support services.
“All of us share concern for those in the paths of hurricanes Fiona and Ian. None of us can stop nature’s fury, but all of us can empathize and offer support, particularly to those whose homes and families may be directly impacted. Please know that Penn State stands ready to assist in every way it reasonably can,” Damon Sims, vice president for Student Affairs, said in the email message.
