UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Student Farm Club invites members of the Penn State and local communities to buy their plants for this growing season at its 10th annual Plant Sale. The club will sell a wide selection of vegetables and succulents, including Pennsylvania natives. The sale will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 26 at the Tyson greenhouses on Curtin Road at University Park. There will be no shortage of plants, so shoppers can stop by at any time.

There will be more than 8,500 seedlings, consisting of more than 100 varieties of vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants grown from saved seeds, native plants, and succulents. New this year, the selection will feature many new varieties that are well-suited for container gardening on a balcony or patio.

The Horticulture Club will provide arranged flowers, and the Ceramics Club will provide hand-made ceramic pots for some of the succulents. Locally adapted vegetable varieties also will be available.

“The Plant Sale is the Student Farm Club's largest fundraiser where we sell various plants that were grown by students,” said Rebecca Durbin, lead manager for the Plant Sale. “Every step in this process from seed to sale is managed and carried out by Penn State students of all backgrounds and majors who share a love for plants.”

Shoppers should bring their own box or bag to carry plants in, as well as cash or check for payment. Those driving to campus are encouraged to park in the East Parking Deck, which offers $1/hour visitor parking.
