UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Center for Spiritual and Ethical Development (CSED) is hosting its annual Lá fhéile Pádraig: St. Patrick's Day Festival on Mar. 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. in 124 Pasquerilla.

"Lá fhéile Pádraig" is Irish for "St. Patrick's Day." The festival will allow visitors to learn about the history and religious significance of the holiday, popular culture impacts and how it connects to social justice. A variety of activities, games and prizes will make for festive and educational celebration.

“It is important to remember the significance of the holidays we celebrate,” said Collin Wildridge, program coordinator for the CSED, a unit in the division of Student Affairs.

“St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of faith and real Irish heritage, including the struggle for independence and maintaining an identity and language, resisting imperialist oppression and more. This fair is a fun way to learn about these important things while inspiring justice and respect for all,” said Wildridge.

The Center for Spiritual and Ethical Development at Penn State is the largest multi-faith center of its kind in the country. The space offers a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment that promotes an environment of appreciation and respect for religious and spiritual diversity. Learn more about the Center here.
