UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, will host its fourth annual Summer Solstice Celebration from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21. All are welcome to attend and enjoy the farm greenery and fresh flavors of the season on the longest day of the year. The celebration is free and open to the public, with the option to purchase food on site.

The event will feature two local food vendors, Brazilian Munchies and Gita Nagari Eco Farm, with dishes that highlight farm-fresh produce. Live music will be performed by Dogwood Company and guests can enjoy activities such as corn hole and face painting. Student Farm merchandise also will be available for purchase.

Both Brazilian Munchies and Gita Nagari accept credit cards for food purchased. Student Farm merchandise is available for sale with cash or check only.

Guests are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, a picnic blanket or lawn chair to sit on, and wear sturdy shoes. The farm also asks that guests not bring pets to prevent damage to food crops currently in production. Casual tours will be offered throughout the evening.

The Student Farm is located near the intersection of Big Hollow and Fox Hollow roads. Location details and directions can be found on the Student Farm website.

In the unfortunate case of poor weather conditions, guests should check the Student Farm Facebook and Instagram pages for updates.
