Student health survey to launch on Jan. 31

Randomly selected participants will receive an email at their Penn State email address from the American College Health Association to participate in the voluntary survey

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — On Monday, Jan. 31, Penn State will begin implementing the National College Health Assessment (NCHA). Randomly selected students from University Park will receive an email from the American College Health Association (ncha-web@acha.org) with the subject line "Penn State Student Health Survey." The email, which will be sent to students’ Penn State email account, will include a link to the survey.

Penn State strongly encourages students who receive the email to participate in the survey, which will help to inform future health and well-being services and programs at Penn State. The survey will close on Feb. 18.

This survey has been administered at University Park since 2012.  This survey is done in collaboration with several Penn State Student Affairs offices.

The ACHA-NCHA is an online survey designed to assess student health behaviors to provide better services and support for Penn State students. The data will be and has been used to inform programming and services, social marketing, and health communication materials. Past surveys helped to identify key health issues among students and led to the development of wellness services offered through Penn State Health Promotion and Wellness, which focus on sleep, stress, healthy relationships, and more. The most recent Student Health Assessment from spring 2020 can be viewed online

All students who submit a survey will be automatically entered in a random drawing to win the following prizes:

  • $75 Lion Cash for one student.
  • $50 Lion Cash for 20 students.
  • $30 Lion Cash for 45 students.
  • $50 Campus Bookstore gift card for five students.
  • $30 Campus Bookstore gift card for seven students.

All winners will be randomly selected by the American College Health Association. Participation in the survey is completely voluntary and confidential.
