UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Allen Street will once again be home to LION Bash, a resource fair and block party for Penn State and surrounding State College communities.

The annual event featuring food vendors, music, activities and resources will take place on the first three blocks of Allen Street from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8.

The Living in One Neighborhood (LION) Bash will feature activities and resources for all community members through a variety of engagement stations hosted by Penn State offices, University clubs and organizations, government services, non-profit organizations and local businesses. These stations provide information about organizations that serve the community and ways visitors can get involved with or give back to the community. Other stations will hold games that visitors can play for the chance to win prizes.

Live performances will take place at the Mayor Welch Plaza in front of the State College Municipal Building. These include Quasi Quintet, a jazz band made up of State College Area School District students; JaDhoom, a Bollywood fusion dance team made up of Penn State students; and Koehler Bay, an acoustic cover band made up of two State College residents.

Local food vendors being featured at the event include Raising Canes, Savory Station, Brazilian Munchies, Sunset Slush Happy Valley and Juana’s.

Like last year’s event, over 130 engagement stations will be featured at LION Bash.

The mission of LION's initiative is to enhance the unique town-gown relationship between State College and the Penn State community by providing robust experiences that bring student residents, long-term residents, and community leaders together for healthy dialogues.
