UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 8, and all students are strongly encouraged to exercise their civic duty to vote.

In this year’s general election, Pennsylvania voters will be selecting a United States senator, the state’s next governor, and more than 200 members of the state General Assembly, making it absolutely critical that every student, regardless of party affiliation, take the time to make their voice heard.

All polling locations in Pennsylvania will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Nov. 8. Students who live in on-campus housing at the University Park campus and are registered to vote in Centre County will vote in Alumni Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center, except for those living in the White Course Apartments, who will vote at the nearby Weston Community Center.

Students living off campus or who attend a Penn State campus other than University Park can find their polling location by visiting the Pennsylvania voter services website. As a reminder, college students have the right to register and vote at either their local or permanent address.

Those voting for the first time must bring a valid form of ID with them, but this is not required for experienced voters. Acceptable forms of photo identification include a driver’s license, PennDOT ID, U.S. passport or Penn State ID. A full list of acceptable IDs is available here.

Students can learn more about the election and the voting process at the PSU Votes website.
