UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Just a few clues and keywords will describe wrapped books during the University Libraries’ “Mystery Date with a Book” event, happening throughout the month of February. Shelves in Pattee Library's Weltman Lobby, on Penn State’s University Park campus, will be filled with both fiction and nonfiction books in a variety of genres available for students to check out for a reading date.
“'Mystery Date with a Book' gives readers a great way to try something they never would have chosen otherwise, and that’s exactly where the fun is in the event,” said Megan Gilpin, outreach coordinator for University Libraries’ Library Learning Services.
A wide variety of titles are available, but books may not be unwrapped until after they are checked out at the lending services desk. Readers are encouraged to provide feedback and photos about their “book date” on the Libraries’ Instagram account @psulibs.
