UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Open Education Engagement Series, offered online by Penn State University Libraries, is a series of interactive sessions on topics related to open educational resources (OER). The spring 2024 series focuses on OER technologies and University resources and support available to instructors and staff interested in learning more about OER.
Each of the following one-hour sessions is offered on two different occasions. When registering, participants are asked to select which date they wish to attend.
“OER@PSU,” 2-3 p.m. April 18 and 10-11 a.m. April 19
- The OER@PSU session gives attendees an overview of the resources and support available at Penn State to assist instructors with adopting, authoring or simply learning more about the process of implementing OER into their courses. Resources include courses for instructors, finding a contact at a local campus or college, locating OER repositories, general consultative services and information on how to report OER use via the Course Markings Initiative and the Barnes & Noble Adoption Portal.

“OER Learning Tools,” 10 - 11 a.m. April 25 and 26
- The OER Learning Tools session provides participants the opportunity to preview a variety of different Penn State-approved tools available to instructors to assist with OER implementation in their courses. This session covers tools that can be used for adoption, authoring, homework systems and student engagement.
