Penn State University Press' executive editor takes on expanded role

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Press has announced that Eleanor Goodman has expanded her position as executive editor to include the role of manager for grants and special projects. Goodman has been a part of the PSU Press acquisitions department for more than 17 years. She acquires books in the areas of art and architectural history; medieval and early modern studies; magic, esotericism and occultism; and more.

“I am pleased to direct my energy in support of the critical mission of PSU Press, and I look forward to participating broadly and productively in conversations that engage the many urgent concerns facing scholars, publishers, and the university press community as a whole,” Goodman said.

Goodman will focus on large-scale funding opportunities that will allow PSU Press to focus on issues fundamental to its mission and values, such as supporting the work of scholars whose affiliations provide limited access to institutional funding — as well as those who are institutionally independent — and aiding in the Press’s efforts to make its publications as accessible as possible. She began her new role on Dec. 1, 2022.
