UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Press has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2022 catalog, featuring new general interest and scholarly books in the fields of literature, art history, religious studies, rhetoric and communication, modernism, medieval and early modern studies, current events, and more.

Notable forthcoming titles include "One Hundred Years of James Joyce’s Ulysses," copublished with the Morgan Library & Museum and edited by acclaimed novelist Colm Tóibín, and four new graphic novels from Graphic Mundi, the Press’ recently launched graphic novel imprint.

Scholarly highlights include "Combating Hate: A Framework for Direct Action" by Billie Murray, which presents strategies grounded in the commitment to affirm, support, and protect those who are the victims of hate speech; "Rape Culture and Female Resistance in Late Medieval Literature," edited by Sarah Baechle, Carissa M. Harris and Elizaveta Strakhov, which examines late medieval "pastourelles" through the lens of contemporary discourses on sexual assault, in particular the #MeToo movement; "Reading Mennonite Writing: A Study in Minor Transnationalism" by Robert Zacharias, which repositions Mennonite literature as “a mode of circulation and reading” rather than an expression of a distinct community; and "Graphic Public Health: A Comics Anthology and Road Map" by Meredith Li-Vollmer, which illustrates the power of comics to meet the ever-changing communication needs of medical professionals and the communities they serve. The catalog also includes new and forthcoming titles from Eisenbrauns, the Press’s imprint for biblical and ancient Near Eastern studies, including "A Sumerian Dictionary" by Mark Cohen and "A New Workbook of Cuneiform Signs" by Daniel E. Snell.
