UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Eberly Family Special Collections Library at Penn State University Libraries is awarding five $3,000 research grants for travel and resource expenses to the University Park campus during the 2024 calendar year.

Grants are currently available to researchers who wish to utilize collections from the Eberly Family Special Collections Library, located at 104 Paterno Library, on Penn State’s University Park campus. The application deadline is Thursday, Aug. 31, and recipients will be notified by Oct. 1 for grants that will cover expenses incurred with travel between Jan. 1 and Dec. 1, 2024. Any non-Penn State faculty member, graduate student or independent scholar with a research project that utilizes the Special Collections Library may apply, with preference given to applicants who live beyond a 100-mile radius of State College, Pennsylvania.

Awards will be based on the quality of proposed research and its relevance to Penn State’s special collections holdings. All applicants are encouraged to discuss proposed projects with the Special Collections Library staff prior to submission. Grant recipients are expected to participate in an informal public talk about the research project during the 2024 fall semester.
