UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) and Penn State Information Technology will host the "Learning Tools for Teaching: Engage, Explore, Elevate Summer" series, a virtual professional development opportunity designed to help faculty and staff explore educational technologies that enhance teaching and learning.

The summer series will take place throughout June on Tuesday mornings via Zoom. The series is designed for faculty and staff who want to deepen their knowledge of Penn State-supported tools, gain hands-on experience, and discover new strategies to strengthen student engagement, learning experiences, and student outcomes.

Each session will spotlight a Penn State enterprise learning tool platform, with representatives providing an overview of key features and demonstrating how the tools can be applied in teaching and learning contexts. Participants will also have opportunities to explore the tools in action and consider practical ways to integrate them into their courses.

Schedule and featured platforms:

  • Tuesday, June 2: VoiceThread – Transform media into collaborative spaces
  • Tuesday, June 9: AI Studio – Infuse AI into your teaching and research
  • Tuesday, June 16: Equidox – Make course PDFs more accessible
  • Tuesday, June 23: Top Hat – Boost student engagement and learning outcomes

The series reflects Penn State’s ongoing commitment to supporting innovative, technology-enhanced teaching practices that create meaningful learning experiences for students and provide faculty and staff with opportunities to connect, experiment and expand their teaching toolkit.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to attend any or all sessions that align with their interests.
