Bike Den to host wet-weather biking 101 workshop Feb. 21

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Transportation Services will be hosting a free, wet-weather biking 101 workshop on Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. at the Bike Den.

Workshop instructors will share tips to help keep cyclists safe and bikes in working order during seasonal rain. As this is an indoor, classroom-style workshop, a bicycle will not be required for participation.

There will also be a demonstration on making a homemade bike fender from recycled materials that can help keep riders dry when biking in the rain. Participants should bring recycled materials such as cardstock board (cereal boxes, frozen food boxes, etc.) and cardboard for the bike fender portion of the workshop.

Preregistration is required by 5 p.m. Feb. 21 and can be done online at this link.
