Penn State has appointed Yvonne Gaudelius as assistant vice president and associate dean for Undergraduate Education, effective July 1. In this capacity, Gaudelius will contribute to and provide leadership for a variety of initiatives, projects and activities within the Office of Undergraduate Education, including enhancement of facilities and innovative approaches for instruction, learning and testing; planning and development related to the summer session, the first-year student experience, and student retention; and research and policy analysis, strategic planning and decisions related to program implementation.
Gaudelius is professor of art education and women's studies. She joined the faculty at Penn State in 1993 and brings four years' experience as associate dean for undergraduate studies and outreach in the College of Arts and Architecture to her new role. For the past year, she served as interim dean in the college. She is widely published in the fields of women's art and art education and has earned awards for creative achievement and outstanding teaching.
