Libraries offer snacks, relaxation activities during Destress Fest

The University Libraries have organized fun and relaxing activities for students during the busy finals period. Destress Fest in Pattee and Paterno Libraries will take place from Sunday, May 3, through Wednesday, May 6. Students will have a chance to take a break and unwind, have a snack and play some games.

The Destress Fest schedule in the Mann Assembly Room, 103 Paterno Library, is as follows:

  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.: Games and art therapy (Tuesday starts at 2:30 p.m.)
  • 4 to 6 p.m.: Free coffee and snacks
  • 4 to 6 p.m.: University Health Services Student Wellness Activities (Monday through Wednesday only)

In addition, tables will be set up with Play-doh and puzzles in the Paterno Library Lobby and Wii games and puzzles in the Pattee Library Lobby.

The four branch libraries on campus also are holding special events for Destress Fest. From Sunday, April 26, through Friday, May 1, the Architecture and Landscape Architecture Library, first floor Stuckeman Family Building, will offer free snacks and drinks every evening from 7 to 9 p.m. A spirograph and crayon drawing area will be set up, and students can relax with origami and puzzles.

The Earth and Mineral Sciences Library, first floor, Deike Building, will offer snacks all day and have puzzles and coloring stations from Sunday, May 3, through Friday, May 8. The Engineering Library, third floor, Hammond Building, will also hold special activities during this time, including tables set up with Play-doh, puzzles and other activities. Free snacks and drinks will be available from 6 to 7 p.m, Sunday – Wednesday, and also in the morning (10 to 11 a.m.), Monday–Wednesday.

The Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library, on the second floor of Davey Lab, also will have Play-doh, puzzles and other activities set up from Sunday, May 3 through Friday, May 8 and will offer snacks and drinks all day.
