Nominations are being accepted by the University Staff Advisory Council (USAC) for an award that honors Penn State staff members who go above and beyond their normal routines in resolving difficult dilemmas or who have been exceptionally creative and responsive to the needs of others.
USAC 's Staff Recognition and Appreciation Program was created to honor "staff stars" and has recognized dozens of staff members in the past few years. All staff members at all Penn State campus locations are eligible and anyone at the University -- administrators, faculty, staff, technical service personnel and students -- may submit a nomination. Penn State has many staff members who provide extraordinary service to the University, campus visitors and co-workers.The program's goal is to honor those staff members who regularly see potential in others, go the extra mile in a specific situation and simply make life better for those around them.

Each nomination is considered on its own merit with no comparisons among nominees. With the University's large group of talented staff, examples of those who foster a more caring and thoughtful atmosphere are abundant. Through this recognition program, USAC's membership hopes to highlight as many deserving staff members as possible.
