Penn State Hillel offering free services, ‘break-the-fast’ meal for Yom Kippur

Penn State Hillel invites students to Yom Kippur services and break fast. This year, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, begins at sundown on Sept. 22 and will continue until sundown on Sept. 23.

For a list of services, visit the Penn State Hillel website. All services will take place in the Pasquerilla Spiritual Center, and students are asked to register online ahead of time. Following services, students are invited to a free “break the fast” sponsored by Irving’s at 8 p.m. in the spiritual center.

Penn State Hillel, the foundation for Jewish life on campus, aims to enrich the lives of the estimated 4,000-6,000 Jewish students at Penn State. Penn State Hillel’s student leaders, staff and lay leaders are dedicated to creating a pluralistic, welcoming and inclusive environment for college students, where they are encouraged to grow intellectually, spiritually and socially.
