UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Following a nationwide search, the Bryce Jordan Center has announced that Al Karosas will be the new general manager at Penn State’s Bryce Jordan Center, effective Aug. 1. Karosas will be taking over the responsibilities of Bob Howard, who oversaw the opening of the Bryce Jordan Center in 1996 and has successfully managed the building to its present day.
Karosas has been involved with the Bryce Jordan Center since its opening, serving as the assistant general manager while also the acting general manager of the Pegula Ice Arena. Karosas received a bachelor of science degree in exercise and sports science in 1995 from Penn State. He has more than 20 years of experience in the arena management industry and is a graduate of the International Association of Venue Managers certification program. He is also experienced in creating opportunities for student development as well as being an adjunct instructor in Recreation Park Tourism Management at Penn State. Karosas is also a co-director of the Penn State Coaches vs. Cancer Committee.
Karosas’s relationship with Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, THON, International promoters and agents, Penn State Finance & Business and the Centre Region made him the best candidate for the long-term success of the arena and the expansion of tourism revenue in the area.
The Bryce Jordan Center will be celebrating its 20th anniversary in January as it continues to be one of the top entertainment and academic venues in Pennsylvania.
