Penn State students to receive class rings in special ceremony

University Park, Pa. -- Nearly 200 Penn State students are expected to be formally presented with their Penn State class rings in a traditional Ring Ceremony at 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 19, at Heritage Hall in the HUB-Robeson Center.

In addition to the presentation of rings, the Ring Ceremony will also feature special guest speaker and current Nittany Lion defensive end Tim Shaw and Roger L. Williams '73, '75g, '88g, executive director of the Penn State Alumni Association.

The Penn State Ring, available only to Penn State alumni and Penn State students with certain standing, serves as a unifying symbol among the more than 459,000 Penn Staters around the world. The Penn State Ring represents dedication, achievement, and Penn State pride, while reflecting the heritage and tradition of the University.

The Ring Ceremony is co-sponsored by the Penn State Alumni Association and Jostens, Inc. Founded in 1897, Jostens is a leading provider of yearbooks, class rings, graduation products, school photography and products for athletic champions and their fans.

The Penn State Alumni Association is the largest dues-paying alumni association in the world with more than 159,000 members.
