UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will hold the seminar "Skills for Effective Teaching in the U.S.," a three-part series starting Oct. 9.

Taught by Chas Brua, Kamie Kim and Meredith Doran, this noncredit seminar series is intended for international graduate students and faculty who would like to learn more about U.S. higher-education culture and to share ideas about effective ways to promote learning in U.S. college classrooms. The seminar will meet on from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 9, Oct. 23 and Nov. 6, in 324 Sackett on the University Park campus.

Participants will engage in in-class activities and discussions, as well as completing short assignments, e.g., reflecting on a university class session that they observe. Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who attend all three sessions and complete all assignments.

There is no cost, but registration is requested.
