UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students looking to gain leadership skills and grow their resume can volunteer with the Office of Student Conduct by serving on a board. The Office of Student Conduct, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, is currently seeking students for their University Conduct Boards.
The hearing boards consist of a faculty or staff chairperson and additional faculty, staff and student members. The boards hear cases related to alleged University code of conduct violations for individual students or organizations and determine if a student or organization is or is not responsible for violations of the Code of Conduct. Student volunteers may also assist in outreach efforts, such as presenting to classes or student organizations about the Office of Student Conduct.
In addition to leadership skills, students who serve on a conduct board gain valuable critical thinking and reasoning skills and help to make the campus community a better place.

Once accepted, students must complete a training as well as additional mock board sessions and shadow hearings.
