Transportation Services announces Juneteenth holiday service changes

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — In observance of the Juneteenth holiday, the following changes to Penn State Transportation Services office hours, transit services and parking operations at University Park will be in effect on Thursday, June 19:

  • The Transportation Services Office will be closed.
  • Fleet Operations will be closed, with no Fleet vehicle pickup or fuel service available.
  • The Bike Den will be closed.
  • There will be no Campus Shuttle service.
  • CATABUS will continue to run its Reduced Service schedule, which includes Blue Loop campus service.

Faculty/staff and student permit holders may park throughout the day in their assigned area and all areas normally available to them during evening/weekend hours, except East, HUB, Nittany and West decks, which, prior to 4 p.m., will be available only to assigned permit holders for each facility.

All core (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) faculty/staff permits remain valid at Lot 11, Lot 22, Yellow H (all sections), and the Nittany and West decks through Friday, Aug. 17.

Visitor parking will be available at the East, HUB, Nittany and West decks at the rate of $2 for the first hour and $1 per hour for additional hours.

Overnight parking restrictions between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. for the Commuter lots will remain in effect, and all reserved parking spaces such as ADA, service/delivery, etc. will remain reserved.
