UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Faculty, doctoral student and post-doc volunteers are needed to serve as poster judges for the Undergraduate Exhibition on April 5. Judges play a vital role in the success of this event, which this year includes 230 posters and more than 270 student presenters. Volunteers are being sought in six broad areas of poster entry: arts and humanities; engineering; health and life sciences; physical sciences; social and behavioral sciences; and course-based projects (all disciplines).

Poster judging will be held in the HUB-Robeson Center on April 5. Judges choose the times and area(s) of entry for judging. Each judging session spans one hour and forty-five minutes (9:15 to 11 a.m.; 10:15 a.m. to noon; 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 12:15 to 2 p.m.), and each judge is given approximately three posters to review during that time. Most judges find that a total of about 45 minutes is required to complete the judging. A judge need not stay the entire one hour and forty-five minutes. The students will be available through the entire session.

Information about the Undergraduate Exhibition can be found at undergradresearch.psu.edu.

Faculty, doctoral students and post-docs willing to serve as judges should complete and submit the online judge volunteer form. The Office of Undergraduate Education will confirm by email that the judge volunteer form was received successfully.

Questions may be directed to Alan Rieck, assistant vice president and assistant dean for Undergraduate Education, at 814-863-1864 or ajr83@psu.edu.

The Undergraduate Exhibition is presented by Penn State Undergraduate Education. Learn more about Undergraduate Education at undergrad.psu.edu.
