"Wild About Animals," an event for kids of all ages, will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at the Penn State Ag Arena, University Park. Admission is $5 for adults. Children under 3 are admitted free. "Wild About Animals" is a fund-raising event for Centre Wildlife Care, a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to caring for injured, orphaned, sick and displaced wildlife for the purpose of releasing them back into the wild. A variety of animal-related organizations will have displays and programs. Exhibits include "Bentley" the friendly bison, a rescued tiger, veterinarians, animal rescues and more. A silent auction will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event is held in conjunction with the Penn State Pre-Vet club.
Programs include:
-- 10:30 a.m.: "Bats are the Good Guys," by naturalist Kurt Muston.
-- noon: "Turtle Power," by naturalist Phill Becker, with a variety of live turtles.
-- 1 p.m.: "North American Owls," by Muston.
-- 1:30 p.m.: "From the Horse's Mouth," by Ginger Reynolds, R'Farm Equine Rescue.
-- 2:30 p.m.: "Bats are the Good Guys," by naturalist Kurt Muston.
-- 3 p.m.: "The North American Mink," by Becker.
Children's events include free Easter Egg hunts at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., face painting, balloons and a visit from the Easter bunny.
