The football season may be over, but there’s still much work to be done. Learn about the business of sport from Kathie Vu, a 30-year veteran in sales and marketing, as she discusses her experiences with the Philadelphia Eagles franchise during a presentation at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Penn State York. Her presentation, “The Business of Sport: A Conversation with Kathie Vu, director of corporate partnerships, Philadelphia Eagles,” is in the Community Room of the Joe and Rosie Ruhl Student Community Center and is free and open to the public.
Vu’s experience includes 17 years at USA Today, serving as a vice president of corporate partnerships for the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) and a year at the National Football League Players Association. In her current position with the Eagles, Vu builds relationships with new and existing partners and creates integrated programs to increase brand association and return on investment.
Throughout her career, Vu has created profitable brand extensions, developed relationships with Fortune 500 companies and built cohesive teams leading organizational changes in both public and nonprofit sectors. Her expertise includes sponsorship, licensing, business development, marketing, finance and strategic planning.
She has received numerous company-wide recognitions including the President’s Circle Awards for best idea and teamwork. Vu represented the LPGA at Michelle Obama’s "Let’s Roll" 2010 campaign, a wellness program targeted at educating families about obesity, and worked with board members and executives to create strategic plans for the LPGA and USA Today.
Vu is a graduate of George Mason University with a bachelor of arts degree.
