As part of our regular “We Are!” feature, we recognize 14 Penn Staters who have gone above and beyond what’s asked of them in their work at the University.

This week, on behalf of the entire Penn State community, we’d like to say thank you to:

  • Tomi Dreibelbis, senior director for educational affairs at the College of Medicine, whose nominator wrote: “Tomi exemplifies the type of leader that makes Penn State a world-class institution. As a leader shouldering considerable responsibility, Tomi is honest, respectful and upbeat, and she has built remarkable camaraderie in her staff that brings the best out of her colleagues.”
  • Nancy Lucas, administrative support assistant at Penn State New Kensington, who received multiple nominations. One reads: “Nancy is one of the most supportive people around! She goes above and beyond in her duties in the Office of Academic Affairs and always does her best. Nancy is a die-hard Penn State fan who supports our sports teams, student activities, and faculty events.” The other reads: “Nancy exemplifies the qualities that a staff leader should have in this office. She excels at finding ways to make processes and procedures more efficient. Nancy consistently goes above and beyond to keep things on our campus running smoothly and always treats everyone with respect.”
  • Geoff Mosebey, talent acquisition specialist in Human Resources, whose nominator wrote: “Geoff is simply a fabulous partner to work with during a search process. He is dedicated, thoughtful and positive. His approach to his work has made a lasting impression, and I believe Penn State is fortunate to have Geoff representing the institution to prospective employees.”
  • Laura O’Brien, channel strategy manager at Penn State World Campus, whose nominator wrote: “Our entire team is so appreciative of Laura and wants to recognize her efforts! One nominator wrote: “Jennifer’s personalized training sessions are not only logical and direct, but they also leave a person feeling like something good has just happened beyond simply getting the books right — namely that an enduring positive working relationship is underway. Jennifer equals joy on my balance sheet.” Another nominator wrote: “Jennifer has an exceptional ability and talent to educate, inform and train anyone that crosses her path! More importantly than skills, Jennifer meets everyone where they are in the most welcoming and accepting way, always leaving them feeling good and ready to take action!”
  • Jana Saupe, senior analyst in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, whose nominator wrote: “Jana's knowledge of process and her ability to explain is exemplary.
