UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Student Organization Award winners were announced on April 24 by the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement, a unit of Student Affairs. These awards recognize the outstanding achievements of student organizations and their members.
The awards are presented annually to recognize student organizations' contributions to the Penn State community. They are based on criteria such as membership engagement, professional development, community impact and collaborative efforts, and they recognize students' leadership, dedication and impact.
"We are thrilled to recognize these outstanding student organizations and individuals for their contributions to the Penn State community," said Kristen Carr, associate director of student leadership and involvement. "Their dedication, leadership and innovation make Penn State a better place for all students."
The 2023-2024 Penn State Student Organization Award winners are:
- Outstanding Organizational Officer: Aylin Mohammadzadehnarandi, Iranian Student Association
- Outstanding Organization Member: Ande Mesa Restrepo, Graduate Women in Engineering
- Outstanding Student Organization: Omega Phi Alpha
- Outstanding Advisor: Tara Wyckoff, Public Relations Student Society of America
- Collaborative Efforts and Initiative: Arnold Air Society
- Community Impact: Food Recovery Network at Penn State
- Community Impact: Student Red Cross Club
- Membership Engagement: Psi Chi-The International Honor Society in Psychology
- Professional/Student Development: Empowering Women in Law
- Professional/Student Development: National Association of Black Accountants
- Diversity and Inclusion Enhancement: Student Chronic Illness Community
- New Initiative: The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
- Innovative Program: Iranian Student Association
- Outstanding Philanthropy Event: Women in Business
