Final workshop in four-part faculty promotion and tenure series set for March 24

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — “Tips for Writing a Narrative Statement,” the final workshop in the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs’ four-part Promotion and Tenure Workshop Series, will be held from 2-3 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, via Zoom.

The workshop, which is designed for all Penn State faculty members seeking promotion, will cover the purpose of and University policies related to the narrative statement; how to create a story about one’s work in teaching, research/creative accomplishment, and/or service; the various audiences who will engage with the narrative; suggestions on how to showcase strengths and address weaknesses; and potential differences in the narrative depending on one’s status as a tenure-line or non-tenure-line faculty.
