A viewing party for NBC’s hit show, “The Voice,” is set for 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at Penn State York’s Pullo Family Performing Arts Center (The Pullo Center). Doors will open at 7 p.m. This event is being held in support of DaNica Shirey, “The Voice,” competitor from York, Pennsylvania. This viewing party event is free and open to the public. No tickets are required for entrance. For more information on this event, call The Pullo Center Box Office at 717-505-8900, or visit www.pullocenter.yk.psu.edu.York campus and The Pullo Center have a special connection to Shirey; she performed at the performing arts center in 2007, when the Penn State Board of Trustees visited the campus.Shirey inherited her love of music from her father, who was her manager and best friend. After his death three years ago, Shirey took some time off from music, got engaged, and had a child. She auditioned for “The Voice” in hopes of honoring her dad and getting her music career moving again. After being featured on the second audition show of the hit NBC series, Shirey landed a spot on team Pharrell (Williams). This was quite the achievement for the now 25-year-old stay-at-home mom. Finding herself back in the spotlight after three and a half years, Shirey has continued to receive praise from all of “The Voice” judges and impress audiences all across the country.

Don’t miss the chance to watch “The Voice” on the big screen at The Pullo Center and join other “Voice” fans to support Shirey during Monday’s show highlighting the top 10 performers. This event will be co-hosted by “Flipside PA.”
