UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State women’s golf team added to their already highly talented youth this week by signing three recruiters, Megan McLean, the top player out of New Hope, Pennsylvania, Madeline Herr, and Ashni Dhruva.

The top three players in terms of average round score on the team for the fall season were all underclassmen who competed in all five tournaments. The top two Jackie Rogowicz and Lauren Waller are both freshmen this year and have greatly impacted the team already in their young career.

From the success of the young players on the team this year and the new upcoming class the Nittany Lion’s have a lot to look forward to. Head coach Denise St. Pierre when talking about the new recruitment class said “adding them to the roster next season with our strong young class from this past year, the future looks very bright.”

Megan McLean of Voorhees High School in New Jersey has excelled her entire career as a junior golfer and continues to do so her senior year as she tied for second place in the 2015 Skyland Conference Girls Golf Tournament. Back in 2014, McLean was the Express-Times Girls Golfer of the Year. In the NJSIAA Girls Tournament of Champions, McLean has placed fifth in the last two consecutive seasons.

Madeline Herr, of Council Rock North High School is the top player coming out of New Hope, Pennsylvania. Herr this year has won her District 1 Class AAA girls golf championship and had one of her two top five finishes in PIAA Eastern Regional tournaments where she finished 4th. In 2014, she placed third in Eastern Regionals. Herr has also had a top 10 finish in the State Golf Championships District 1.

Ashni Dhruva, is a senior at Seven Lakes High School and this year has competed in three AJGA tournaments, with her best finish in the Under Armour / Gary Woodland Championship at ninth. Dhruva finished just outside the top ten in the other two AJGA tournaments finishing 11th and 12th. Dhruva also finished second this year in the IJGT played at Palmetto Dunes.
