Engineering Design Conference at Penn State Behrend

8:00 AM - 12:30 PM / April 30, 2022

More than 280 students will present their senior capstone projects at the Richard J. Fasenmyer Engineering Design Conference at Penn State Behrend on April 30. The presentations, which are open to the public, begin at 8 a.m. in Burke Center.

Nicole Gailey, a 2010 Behrend graduate who now works as director of research, development and innovation at Trivium Packaging, will be the keynote speaker. She and her team develop metal packaging for the food and beverage, paints, coffee and aerosol markets. Her talk begins at 11:45 a.m. in Burke 180.

The Fasenmyer conference showcases the yearlong work of student teams that have managed engineering and design projects, many of which are sponsored by business and industry partners. This year’s project sponsors include NASA, Northrop Grumman, Parker LORD, Truck-Lite and Westinghouse Electric.

This year’s projects include a radar and video speed trap system, a robotic metronome and a cold-weather pickleball. To learn more about the projects and the Fasenmyer conference, visit the Engineering Design Conference webpage.
