5:30 PM - 7:30 PM / October 19, 2022

The Multi-Cultural Council at Penn State Behrend will host the annual Harambee Dinner, a celebration of cultural diversity at the college, on Oct. 19. The program begins at 5:30 p.m.

“Harambee” is Swahili for “Let’s pull together.” The term originated in Kenya as a slogan for national unity.

The Harambee Dinner at Penn State Behrend is intended to unify the college community by celebrating the cultural diversity among Behrend’s students, faculty and staff. This year’s program will feature cultural dances and African drumming.

The keynote speaker will be Eboné Bell, the founder and editor-in-chief of Tagg Magazine, which tells the stories of young, queer women of color. Bell has been featured in Forbes magazine as an “Inspiring Black Entrepreneur Changing Our World.”

Advance registration is required.
