Penn State DuBois’ Natalie Bowser named PSUAC softball hitter of the week

DuBOIS, Pa. — Penn State DuBois freshman softball player Natalie Bowser has been named the Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference (PSUAC) softball hitter of the week for week two of the season. Bowser had an outstanding week at the plate for the Lady Lions last week. In 12 at bats, she collected nine hits, including three doubles, drove in eight RBIs and scored four runs. For the week, Bowser finished with a .750 batting average.

A Knox native who attended Keystone High School, Bowser has played in all 12 games so far this season. In 39 at bats she has 22 hits, including seven extra base hits, has driven in 13 RBIs, scored nine runs, has drawn one walk and has a stolen base. Overall, Bowser currently holds a .564 batting average for the season.

Bowser had a great performance in the Lady Lions’ 13-6 victory over Central Main Community College on March 13. In game one of the double header on that day, Bowsers tallied four hits in five at bats on the day, including a double, drove in four RBIs and scored three times.

Bowser is a multisport athlete at Penn State DuBois, having just completed her first season as a member of the women’s basketball team. Finishing her freshman season with more than 350 points, Bowser was named to the PSUAC women’s basketball west division first team and was named a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-American honorable mention.
