Next Innovation Café to discuss drug development trends

The next Innovation Café on the Penn State Hershey campus is Wednesday, Oct. 9, with guest speaker Albert Giovenella, adjunct assistant professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania’s Perelman School of Business.

Giovenella has more than 46 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry in numerous phases of drug research, market support and consulting. He recently developed a drug discovery database that he uses to teach concepts to students, network with start-up companies, and analyze minute-by-minute drug development trends.

The database includes every company that has produced a drug in the past eight to 10 years totaling more than 2,000 companies varying from therapeutic to mechanisms of action and many categories in between. The data collected reflects the positive effects that biotechnology companies have had on the drug development industry.

The program begins at 8 a.m. in the University Conference Center on the Penn State Hershey campus. Space is limited. Reserve a spot today: https://innovationcafe6.eventbrite.com/
