NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Prior to visiting the campus in person, prospective students can access Penn State New Kensington’s interactive virtual tour or the social media dashboard to get a feel for the campus via a home computer or mobile app.

The online tour also highlights campus students, facilities and activities. After previewing the campus, future Penn Staters can use the navigation buttons to schedule a visit or apply online. The tour is available in English, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese.

Users can explore different areas of the 72-acre campus using four tour options — walking, panoramic view, videos and photos. The guided walking tour starts at the Lion Shrine and continues to 19 other campus hot spots, including the Junction Coffee Bar, Art Gallery, Computer Center, Forum Theatre, Conference Center, Café 780 and Athletics Center, Biomedical Engineering Technology (BET) and Radiological Sciences (RadSci) classrooms and labs.

The panoramic tour provides 360-degree views of campus facilities. The Academic and Student Success Center, Elisabeth S. Blissell Library, and Nittany Highland Apartments are among the 21 campus venues. The virtual tour features students, faculty and staff and highlights the quality of academic programs and the variety of student extracurricular activities.

A gallery of 50 photos features the Café 780 court yard, the iconic arch that overlooks the campus entrance off state Route 780 and the Larry R. Pollock Fountain.

Penn State students star in the video option, which extols the virtues of the campus, from bachelor’s degree programs to the 2 + 2 plan to scholarships. Students can stay at the campus for four years and earn a degree in one of 10 bachelor’s programs or start the first two years in most of Penn State’s 160 majors at New Kensington and finish at another Penn State campus. Numerous scholarships are available. For the fall 2016 semester, more than $850,000 in scholarships were awarded to campus students. To view the interactive experience, visit Virtual Tour.

In addition to the virtual tour, future Penn Staters stay updated on the campus through the Social media dashboard. New Kensington has eight channels — Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, Google, SmugMug, and Linkedin. To join the conversation, visit the Social Media Dashboard.
