Yours was an impossible task: to meet the extremely vast information needs of our Penn State community during this unprecedented time. Thank you to my Strategic Communications team and to all of our communicator partners across the University for your long hours and focus to provide our students, faculty and staff with the critical information and support that was urgently needed.
In a time when media, social media, public health authorities, legislative bodies and more, have been sharing an abundance of information, data, directions and guidance, you have helped to synthesize critical information into clear and concise communications. And while there has been no playbook for this devastating pandemic, this was mission-critical work that you all faced with professionalism and dedication. Like many others across the University we have worked like never before, and while I can’t say I’m surprised by the efforts and commitment of this group, I am still impressed.
I am forever indebted. We all are. When your Penn State community needed to know so much, you answered the call of service.
