Alumni Council election results and appointments announced

Seven alumni leaders elected to Alumni Council, while seven additional Penn Staters appointed to council; new members to begin terms July 1

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Seven alumni leaders have been elected to Alumni Council — the Penn State Alumni Association’s governing board — and will begin their terms July 1. Listed are the seven elected alumni (alumni are listed in order of vote totals):   

  • Linde A. Miles, PhD '09 Sci: 3,588 

  • Melissa Brickhouse '99 Bus: 3,578 

  • Renee DeMay '89 Bus: 3,403 

  • Christine (Flynn) Weaver '98 Sci: 3,350 

  • Jackie Barkley Foor '88 Edu: 3,143 

  • Joseph A. Sbaffoni '73a EMS: 3,114 

  • CAPT John Brabazon '96 Eng: 3,026  

7,325 alumni voted out of 134,167 eligible voters (5.46%). Election results were certified by YesElections.  

Seven appointed members also will join the seven Penn Staters previously elected to Alumni Council (alumni are listed in alphabetical order, along with their graduation year and unit):

Alumni Council is an all-volunteer governing body that advises and guides the Penn State Alumni Association on programs and initiatives to uphold its mission of service and support to Penn State. Alumni members of the Alumni Association are eligible to vote in the annual election, which takes place online.
