Gonzalo recognized with two national awards

HERSHEY, Pa. — Dr. Jed Gonzalo, assistant professor of medicine and public health sciences and associate dean for health systems education at Penn State College of Medicine, received the National Award for Scholarship in Medical Education from the Society of General Internal Medicine. Gonzalo was recognized for his individual contributions to medical education.

Gonzalo also recently won the Herbert W. Nickens Faculty Fellowship award from the Association of American Medical Colleges. This award recognizes an outstanding junior faculty member who has demonstrated leadership in the United States in addressing inequities in medical education and health care; demonstrated efforts in addressing educational, societal and health care needs in racial and ethnic minorities; and is committed to a career in academic medicine.
