Parking, transit and other service changes announced for summer 2026

Transit service will be reduced, but additional parking access will be available for core faculty/staff permit holders

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Transportation Services has announced service changes for summer 2026.

Parking Changes

All core (Brown, Green, Orange, Red, Silver, Yellow) faculty/staff permits will be valid at Lot 11, Lot 22, Yellow H (all sections), and the Nittany and West decks beginning Monday, May 11 through Friday, Aug. 14.

All other parking regulations will remain in effect during the summer.

Campus and Community Transit Changes

CATA will run its Reduced Service Light schedule from Monday, May 4 through Sunday, May 10, which will include Blue Loop and White Loop service during the week and limited White Loop service on weekends. There will be no Red Link service during this time. CATA will then run its Reduced Service schedule from Monday, May 11 through Sunday, Aug. 16, which will include Blue Loop service Monday through Saturday with no Sunday service. There will be no White Loop or Red Link service during this time.

The Campus Shuttle via College Avenue will operate at full service during the summer. The Campus Shuttle via Beaver Avenue will run from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. with service reduced to every 30 minutes.

Bike Den Summer Hours

Starting Monday, May 4, the Bike Den will shift to reduced summer hours. It will be open Monday through Friday from noon to 6 p.m. and closed on Saturdays throughout the summer sessions.
