UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State's Forum on Black Affairs has announced that the 49th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr Memorial Banquet will take place on Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, at the Bryce Jordan Center on the University Park campus. Doors will open at 4:30 pm, and the program will begin promptly at 5:30 pm.

This year's theme, "The Movement Continues: Embracing MLK's Dream of a Better World for All," will celebrate King's vision of a world where everyone is treated equally, regardless of race, religion or gender. The evening's program will include a delicious buffet dinner and cash bar, followed by exciting performances and recognition of the 2024 Forum on Black Affairs (FOBA) Humanitarian Award recipient. FOBA will also honor student scholarship winners who have shown exceptional academic achievement and dedication to social justice.

A limited number of hotel rooms are reserved at the Springhill Suites by Marriott, Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton, and the Hyatt’s Place in State College. Those who wish to secure a room are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible.

Tickets are available for purchase at $110 for individuals and $1,000 for a table of 10. Ticket prices exclude the additional taxes and processing fees charged by Ticketmaster; these additional charges will be assessed separately during the checkout process.

Banquet tickets will go on sale to the general public on Thursday, Dec. 14, at 8 a.m. and can be purchased online at this link. Penn State units or departments looking to purchase via internal funds transfer should contact the Bryce Jordan Center at 814-865-5555 or bjcticketcenter@psu.edu.

"We encourage all community members to attend this important event and support FOBA's mission to provide educational opportunities for all citizens," said Stephanie Danette Preston, immediate past president of FOBA.
